Lambing Experiences

2024 BOOKINGS CLOSED*

2024 BOOKINGS CLOSED*

Unfortunately 2024 lambing has now come to a a close. It was a fantastic season and we welcomed 143 lambs to the world!

Our lambing experiences are small and personalised, unlike the commercial ones you see in many places.

We are a 180 acre, working, family farm and aim to provide you with an exciting, educational and real experience of lambing time.

The lambing experiences are relaxed and flexible, being influenced by what is happening on the farm at the time. However a typical lambing experience we will include:

  • Checking the pregnant ewes, seeing if any are giving birth (this can’t be guaranteed for obvious reasons). However, it there is a birth (fingers crossed!) you will be able to quietly watch while being talked through the process by Tamsyn - your host and shepherdess.

  • Spend time in our nursery, meeting our adorable freshly born lambs who will all be in individual pens with their mum’s, allowing them time to bond and establish good feeding routines.

  • Spend time cuddling and being entertained by our gorgeous orphan lambs in our pet pen. They love the attention and will climb all over you!

  • We may also have a walk around the fields and see any ewes and lambs that are a little older and out enjoying the fresh air.

  • Bedding up pens, feeding, topping up waters and generally helping with the day to day tasks of lambing time.

Lambing is such a joyful, happy and tiring time on the farm and we absolutely love being able to invite you to share that time with us. However, please be aware that this is a real life experience. Although we do everything within our power to ensure that all births go well and healthy, happy lambs are born, the reality is that this is not always possible. Unfortunately, at times there can be sadness and loss.

There is the option to finish your time by relaxing with a delicious homemade cream tea with fantastic views over the farm (pre order only).

In this working environment, parents or carers will be fully responsible for their children ensuring that they are calm and respectful around livestock and safe around machinery. Suitable for children aged 4 and over.

Please see below for reviews and video.

**Do not book if you are pregnant. Pregnant sheep can cause harm to your unborn baby. **
